Hello, I'm Darryl. They say you should live life to the fullest, but for me, that didn’t truly resonate until a heart attack at age 48 changed everything. What I thought was the end was actually a new beginning. I started hiking to save my health, picked up a camera to capture the view, and found myself returning to a passion I hadn’t touched since high school.

The road didn't just lead to better health—it led me back to Lisa. A high school sweetheart with a camera of her own, Lisa joined me on the trek, and soon we were exploring the back roads just like we were teenagers again. Today, as empty-nesters and partners in Backroad Pix, we spend every spare moment avoiding the interstates in search of the forgotten: rusted cars, weathered barns, and hidden wildflower patches.
