Backroad Pix
Meet the Artists
I have always believed in the old saying, "Live life to the fullest", But at 48 years old, I had a heart attack. At that moment, I thought life was over. But, I made the necessary lifestyle changes, and became much more active. Started hiking, and picked up a camera. I had an interest In photography back in high school, but that was a lifetime ago! I began taking a few photos while outdoors, and soon developed a desire to roam around the state, looking for things that interested me. That led me to bump into a high school sweetheart, Lisa Byrd, who was also beginning her journey into photography as well. We started talking a little, realized how much we had in common, and began spending time together, roaming the back roads looking for stuff to photograph. It's just like we were back in high school!

Together, we call ourselves Backroad Pix. And now, both of us being empty nesters, we roam the countryside every chance we get. Mostly avoiding the Interstate, we look for anything that catches our eye. An old barn, an old car, or an abandoned building of some kind. Maybe a patch of wildflowers, or sometimes, each other. We have had the cops called on us, dogs turned loose on us, been chased by little old ladies, and followed sketchy people into sketchy places, but we stay safe, and have managed to have a ton of fun!
